Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about setup, classroom use, and getting help.

Use this page to ask for help, report a problem, or send feedback about Ensemble Helper. For bugs, include what you were trying to do, what happened, and the device or browser you were using if you know it.

Start by creating or importing a roster, then use that roster to build a seating chart. Seating Charts, Attendance, and Shared Rosters are designed to work together so you do not have to rebuild the same student list in multiple places.

Yes. Ensemble Helper supports roster imports from Google Classroom and CSV files. This is intended to make setup faster for directors who already have class lists in another system.

Yes. Attendance is built around the same shared roster system used by Seating Charts. That means one class or ensemble roster can support charts, attendance, and future connected tools.

Ensemble Helper is being built for real classroom use, including desktop computers, Chromebooks, smartboards, tablets, and phones. Some editing tools are best on a larger screen, while attendance and viewing workflows are designed to be useful on smaller devices too.

Collaboration and sharing are part of the long-term plan for Ensemble Helper. The goal is to support directors, co-directors, substitutes, and programs that need shared access to charts, rosters, attendance, or related information.

The most helpful reports include the page you were on, what you clicked, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and whether the issue happened on desktop, Chromebook, tablet, phone, or smartboard. A screenshot is helpful when available.

Future module ideas include flexible rosters, percussion assignments, evaluation rubrics, choir and general music seating charts, inventory, music library tools, rehearsal planning, concert programs, labels, and other director-focused tools. The roadmap may change as real users give feedback.
